Mobile (or cell) Phone Throwing is a popular sport in Finland (don’t ask why – they just like bizarre things such as this in that country). Contestants are judged by distance and sometimes technique, and dependant on the particular contest rules, the mobile phone must either be tossed backwards over the shoulder or freestyle (contestants choice), with the distance being calculated as an average across three attempts. Sometimes “creativity” points are awarded for “unusuality”.
Get along, get involved; the World Championship Mobile Phone Throwing competition is open to anyone, as long as you register first.
