Where: Douz, Tunisia
The International Festival of the Sahara attracts over 50,000 people annually to witness the celebration of
Saharan desert culture.
This spectacle takes place in the heart of the Tunisian
Sahara in the small oasis town of Douz. Originally a Bedouin marriage market,
the festival is now a four day affair filled with singing, dancing, feasting
and camel racing.
